Winter Skin Care Favorites

By Blonde Bowhemian - February 24, 2017

This weather in the northeast has me feeling like this post is no longer relevant, but sadly, I'm thinking it's too good to be true and we'll be back in the tundra soon enough! Every winter I struggle with the driest of dry skin and have tried endless moisturizers only to still end up with tight, itchy skin and chapped lips, which certainly doesn't help in the blemish department, either. But, I think I've finally found some winners! The three items below have become my absolute go-tos this season and I think they've found permanent space on my shelf.

Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich // This. I had never been able to find a moisturizer that actually sinks in and leaves my skin feeling moisturized in the morning when I wake up until now. I was a little late to the Glossier bandwagon having only hopped on this past summer when I purchased their Haloscope highlighter (another gem!). But I'm officially a convert. The moisturizer itself feels luxurious and has a relatively strong scent of lavender, a plus in my book. I have been using it every night before bed for the past few weeks and can honestly say my skin looks more evenly toned and calmer when I wake up. Plus, my skin no longer feels tight or dry and that's all I can ask for!

Vaseline Rosy Lip Therapy // I know this seems silly, but a good chapstick is hard to come by! Not surprisingly, chapped lips is another struggle of mine in the winter and I hate having to reapply chapstick every ten minutes. Although I don't love having to use my finger to apply it, this formula actually lasts on my lips and keeps them moisturized for hours. And, the rosy color is a nice bonus! Plus, the price really can't be beat.

Kate Somerville EradiKate // The price may seem a little much, but this a little goes a looong way so I have a feeling I'll have this bottle for a while. Whenever a blemish pops up, I put this on before I go to bed (it's very pink and smells very sulfurous, so you can't wear it during the day) and when I wake up my face looks lightyears better. If I use this three nights in a row, the blemish will usually be totally gone, which is probably half the time that it usually takes for one of mine to go away. It may not be a miracle worker but it's pretty close!

Do you have any holy grail items you can't live without?

Happy Shopping!

Joanna
