It's now that awkward time of year where on my way to class in the morning I want to be bundled up in my Patagonia parka, and by the afternoon I need to be a in a t-shirt and running shorts, stat. Rather than walk around in the 70 degree afternoon sun with my knee-length sleeping bag of a jacket, I've found a happy medium in this mid-weight Free People coat (one of my favorite gifts!) It's heavy enough to protect me from the morning chill, but not enough so that I'm roasting come afternoon. In my eyes, a fall coat is a great investment piece that you will use year after year (and maybe in the spring, as well?) I've compiled a few of my favorites by style so check them out (click on the prices to go straight to their websites)…
It's finally starting to feel like quintessential fall around here in Central PA, and by that I mean the temperature has dropped to sweater-weather levels and I've switched from iced to hot coffees (that's when you know…) Although I'm going to miss being able to just throw on a sundress, my fall wardrobe is definitely one of my favorites because it's all about playing with layers and mixing and matching patterns. Speaking of… one of the biggest trends for this Fall (and every fall basically) is plaid. In the past, I've always seen plaid as being too preppy for my taste, but Bucknell, you've changed me (for the better? not sure yet) and I can't wait to incorporate some into my wardrobe this season. For those of you who aren't quite ready to don your plaid and pearls a la Sarah KJP, there are really small ways you can incorporate this playful pattern into your everyday look, from bracelets to scarves, and even loafers. Have a look…
