College Crafting #2: Washi Tape

By Blonde Bowhemian - September 02, 2014

Sorry I've been so MIA lately; between moving into my dorm, starting classes, and going through rush, my free time has been hanging by a thread recently. But, now that I'm starting to get into a routine hopefully I'll be able to post more often!

While decorating my room, I was desperate to liven up my bland, boring, and basic white walls. After putting up pictures, paintings, and my letters (!) I still felt that I needed some more color in my life. Seeing as I (unfortunately) cannot make any permanent changes to the room like adding paint, I needed an easily removable way to spruce up the walls. I remembered reading a post somewhere on washi tape, and decided to head on over to Walmart (seriously, a life saver over here in central PA) and stock up.

Let me tell you, this stuff is amazing. It's foolproof, even for the most scissor-challenged people like me and it looks great on anything, not to mention it's really inexpensive! I used my washi tapes to put borders around my photos, making them stand out more and give my room some more personality. It's already sticky so you just peel it, cut it, and place it where you want! How I didn't discover this earlier I really don't know…

Now that I have so much extra, I've been trying to find other uses for it, and the list is endless. Here is some of my favorite inspiration so far:

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 //

I'd love to see what you come up with if you try it out!

Happy Crafting!
